Who would have thought that Kishore Shah
Would rise in life and go so far.
As his father suffered from TB
There were hardships that he would see.
In childhood he was very shy
But adversity forced him to try
To overcome all his fears
And out compete all his peers,
He worked hard with purpose and with drive
And in good time he could thrive.
His Uncle brought him to Bombay.
In the maximum city, he found the way.
He excelled in school and university
And mastered Chemical Technology.
And so great was his mastery
From Bachelor’s to PhD
Without a Master’s degree,
Something that we rarely see.
He used his knowledge in various ways
As a professional manager in the early days
As a consultant periodically.
But later on we also see
A successful entrepreneurial side
As well as an academic guide!
His profound technical tomes
Are found in libraries and homes.
No wonder his Birthday celebration
Is on the national day of education.
He’s been everywhere and done it all.
Professionally he stands tall!
Though he’s an expert, it’s rather strange
He has always had the widest range.
As a child he had no time for sport.
With his friend he later sought
To learn and regularly play
And Tennis first paved the way
Narendra first took him
To play at Matunga Gym
It was here that he was trained.
The institution also gained.
It was revamped and modernised
All his work is greatly prized.
For 18 long years he did serve
With great panache as well as verve.
It is undoubtedly the case
His service proved to be an ace!
And this year Matunga Gym
Quite suitably, honoured him.
Travelling the world was a passion
Long before it was the fashion.
From Kishore we always see
Various kinds of Philanthropy
For Surendranagar it’s charity
And deep love for friends and family.
He had close brushes with sudden death
That will take away your breath.
For Ganpati the street was cleared
But as he walked a car appeared
He was hit and tossed quite far
By the unexpected, speeding car
He happened to land on his knee
There was no major injury.
Had he landed on his head
Nothing more could have been said.
When a prospective client came to town
The venue seemed strange, he still went down.
Alas! In life you can’t always win
A gang of thugs soon broke in
They pointed guns to his head
No shot was fired but instead
They were manhandled but let go.
What saved them then, we’ll never know
For sure, but one could conclude
That since he is indeed imbued
With good Karma he was saved.
All these incidents he braved!
Whether you’re faced with joy or strife
You can learn lessons from his life.
