Governor Bryant and your delegation,
A warm welcome to our nation.
Mississippi is a beautiful state
And I hope you make it great!
Indian investment in the USA
Has been rising day by day.
The Indian presence is in many states
And Mississippi also opened its gates
To Indian manufacturing and IT
And who knows what else. We’ll see.
Mississippi was agrarian but then
Governor Bryant brought in Glenn.
We will learn what opportunities await
In this rapidly developing State.
And we’ll extend a helping hand
Once we begin to understand
What are the projects that you seek.
And we will act once you speak.
Recent events appear quite strange
Please do explain this sudden change.
America used to be a nation
Built on the back of immigration.
And it would seem one of its charms
Was welcoming all with open arms.
But now there is a frightening call
To build a most exclusive wall.
And scientists have testified
But climate change is still denied.
Now with the ravages of Irma
The evidence is that much firmer.
If warning signs we do not heed
I fear none of us will succeed.
The world is close to the brink.
So let's get serious, let's not sink.
These tricky questions will add some spice.
That's what makes Indian food so nice.
Hospitality dictates that I be pliant.
I yield the floor to Governor Bryant.
