We started this conference in 2005
And may this conference always thrive.
These learnings help us all succeed
And Sanjay Trivedi took the lead.

We progressed well, right from that start.
I’m sure you will enjoy the fare

Food for the body, food for the mind
And inspiration of every kind.
And we are sure that you will earn
A lot from all that you will learn.
But before our conference ends
Do take the time to make new friends.
Our industry is like a chain
And all of us have much to gain
If we repair some of the chinks
And forge lots of new sturdy links.
Be diligent, please do not shirk.
And by all means complete your work.
But take some time to stand and stare.
There’s bonhomie that we can share.
Sustainably we must grow

All of us can properly plan it

Our region is indeed the key
For success in our industry.
With two thirds of the world’s population
And a great degree of collaboration.
We have the climate and the soil
To produce Palm and Coconut oil.
Raw materials that are clearly seen
As being extremely green.
As the Palm tree steadily grows
In the early years everyone knows
Much carbon is captured in the wood.
In later years it’s understood
The carbon capture would be less.
But some there would be, I’d like to stress.
It is no longer Climate Change
Within a tolerable range.
A crisis is what it’s about
With fires, floods as well as drought.
Every week a constant blast
Far worse than seen in the past.
If we must, we will adapt
Prevention though would be more apt.
There is a cost to adaptation,
It’s rising fast in every nation
As well as for the world at large.
This will be a heavy charge.
In fact we should all conclude
Prevention would be far more shrewd.
It actually would cost much less
And avoid a lot of stress.
Our industry should play a rôle
In the carbon neutral goal.
GHG emissions should be reduced
More green energy should be produced.
Wind and solar costs are falling
There is no reason far any stalling.
And India’s full of biomass
Palm fibre, crop residues and bagasse.
And many sources that are new
Including high energy bamboo.
Everywhere there’s water stress
Undoubtedly we must use less
Both in consumption and production
We need substantial reduction.
Fortunately it’s not a cost
With good ideas nothing’s lost.
The less we waste the more we save.
We must be smart, we must be brave.
We do indeed need to invest
But the returns will be the best!
Now all of you will I hope
Try our Magic liquid soap.
It’s a product both Good and Green
Many benefits are seen.
The project was an ambitious bid
To reach the bottom of the pyramid
With a product that could properly clean
And also be extremely green.
With a great design that’s very lean.
Now multiple benefits can be seen-
Reducing waste, reduces cost.
There’s no trade off, nothing’s lost!
Our innovation saved the day.
Powder to liquid was the way.
As this is a concentrate
The plastic saving’s truly great.
One half is all that we need
In transport, as well, we did succeed.
The volume’s less, we need less trips
Our carbon footprint dramatically slips.
Combining both is tough, in fact
We did achieve a double impact
Both social - affordable cleaning
And environmental- real greening.
Once again we’re in the fray
As body wash is on the way.
This also makes a lot of sense
With savings that are immense
When compared to a regular wash.
But substantially greater, By gosh!
If we compare to bar soap.
All in all, there’s so much scope.
In order to really succeed
New surfactants are the need.
Sophorolipids are one way to go.
Multiple benefits clearly flow.
A smaller quantity is all we need
Synergistic surfactants help us succeed.
Microbes can be kept at bay
And therefore it can also play
As germicide or preservative.
So many options it can give!
Much success is what you’ll see
If you add it to your artillery!
Now plastic waste is a pain
On land and sea, it’s such a bane.
We need plastics that biodegrade
More and more are being made.
In India too, they’re on the way
A major role they will play.
As far as goes for the other kind
We should always bear in mind
We must recycle or reuse
Or else repurpose and reduce.
It must be clearly understood
Waste management has to be good.
The task is hard, the task is tall.
Collectively let’s take the call.
If we all collaborate
The out come will be truly great.
